SOMATHEERAM AYURVEDA ACADEMY is located at Somatheeram Ayurveda Resort, Chowara Beach, South of Kovalam in Kerala, India. It is 21 kms from the Trivandrum International Airport, Trivandrum.

This is a very informative course with a well balanced proportion of theory and practical. The session includes in-depth explanations on various concepts in Ayurveda, Panchakarma, Massages, Treatment Procedures, Marma Points, Pulse Diagnosis Etc.
Panchakarma (Panch=five, Karma=procedures) involves detoxification of the body using five processes namely Vamana (induced vomiting), Virechana (purgation), Basti (medicated enema), Nasya (Herbal application through nostrils) and Raktamokshana (bloodletting).
Through intensive massaging procedures the body is toned, relaxed, relieved of pain and stimulated. Also the theory on basic principles of Ayurveda, identification of body types (PRAKRUTI) as per Ayurvedic Methods and different Ayurvedic Massages.
‘Marma’ are those vital points which control the functioning of the whole body. Massaging the appropriate Marma points can help in correcting many conditions and problems in the body. Also know about Marma (107 energy points) of human body location, action and indication practical session of Marma therapy.
Foot massage is similar to Marma massage except that it is carried out using feet. It helps in revitalizing the body, increasing flexibility and maintaining health.
Head massage involves massaging the scalp, hair, neck, shoulder and arms using special herbal oils and massaging techniques
Face Massage relieves the stress and strain in the facial muscles thereby toning the skin and arresting wrinkles.
