Rain water harvesting: Somatheeram is preserved more naturally with Ayurveda Herbal Plants,Grass lawns,Trees to help to recharge rain water to ground water. Recharge pits are constructed in different areas to recharge the rain water to ground water.Also rain water is collected at the lower portion of the land in a pond and reuses it after passing through water purifier.

Waste management: Colour coded different type of bins to ensure the waste is segregated correctly. Dry waste except plastic is burned in a specially crafted incubator installed in side the premise of the Resort.

Corporate Social Responsibility

As a part of our CSR efforts: we purchase most of our Vegetables, Honey and Spices from Attappadi Tribal Co-operative Farming Society. Also we are purchasing Indian Masalas, Wheat, Grains etc. from Small Scale Units run by self employed women of the Village. All herbs for preparing Ayurveda medicines at our unit are also purchased from the Tribal people.
Hunar Se Rozgar Programme: Somatheeram Ayurveda Beach Resort is always very keen in professional skill developing. With the support of IHMCT Kovalam we are training our F&B Service/Production, Front office and House keeping staff under Hunar Se Rozgar Programme.
We clean our beach: Every week 3 pm to 4 pm our staff and department head take in it ative to clean our beach and near by village area.
