Food has an immense impact on the nature of the body.
Food has an immense impact on the nature of the body. Every person is born with a unique combination of Doshas. When these doshas are in harmony, the individual is healthy both mentally and physically. However, any rupture of this harmony can lead to illnesses. As the individual body constitution is varied, the diet required is also different, so any imbalance in the dosha of your body can be restored by proper diet.
Ayurveda identifies six tastes or rasas which are:
- Madhura—sweet
- Amla—sour
- Lavana—Salt
- Tikta—Bitter
- Katu—Pungent
- Kashaya—Astringent
